GSM & GPRS Alarm Systems

We have developed a range of security systems that utilise both GSM and GPRS technology. This page seeks to clarify which version you may require to protect your premises. If however you are still unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us on +44(0)1685 350418 or contact us online.

GSM Alarm Systems

GSM alarm systems act as a remote wireless security device for your premises. In the event of a GSM alarm being triggered, a text message will be forwarded to your mobile phone/preconfigured telephone numbers via SMS, raising the alarm for immediate investigation.

Running costs

GSM systems simply require the user to install a standard SIM card. Typically users spend between £7.50 - £10.00 per month depending on how many people the status and alarm messages are sent to. Around £90 - £120 per year.

You will need to supply your own SIM card for use in our GSM devices. This can be a contract SIM or a Pay-as-you-go SIM. We recommend either O2 or Vodafone SIM's as these networks have the best national coverage (in the UK), however, users are encouraged to use which ever network has the best signal strength in the area where the system is located.

GPRS Alarm Systems

Our GPRS alarm systems are fully monitored, meaning that any activation alerts are sent directly to an ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre). If the ARC is notified of an activitation they will contact the registered keyholders and advise them of the activated alarm. Learn more about our monitored alarm systems and ARC here.

Status messages such as armed, disarmed, battery status etc. are sent via email to the users email account.

In addition to the above all of our GPRS alarm systems are accessible via a PIN, remotely, 24/7 through our secure online server. This allows you to monitor the status of the GPRS system, down to each individual detector connected to it, from anywhere in the world.

Running costs

GPRS systems require a specific type of SIM card and this is supplied with the system at a cost of £60 per year (paid in one upfront payment). Monitoring charges are £50 per year (paid in one upfront payment). Total £110 per year.
