Domestic and commercial heating oil and diesel fuel storage tanks have become prime targets for thieves over recent years. If you store oil or diesel you know that there is a good deal of money tied up in your tanks. In addition to the cost of the oil or fuel, most thieves damage the tanks in order to remove the fuel, resulting in even greater replacement costs. If any fuel is left in the tank when the thieves portable storage cans are full, is often left to run out on to the ground. This can result in expensive environmental clean-up costs. All in all fuel or oil theft can be an expensive issue as well as being very inconvenient.
In order to provide owners of fuel or oil storage tanks early warning of possible fuel theft, CSS offer a police approved security solution that will notify you wherever you are that your tank has been targeted.
The HX range of stand-alone security sensors are designed to be mounted close to the storage tank at a height of at least 1 meter above the height of the tank. The HX detectors are external dual optic detectors combined with a unique lens that creates 94 indiviual detection zones, with a detection range of up to 12 x 12 meters (Adjustable). When installed correctly the HX will cover the area around your tank and notify you or anyone else you require if someone is approaching you tank.
Whilst there are many physical tank security devices on the market, these all concentrate on securing the tank filler cap. Although this does provide a deterrent, it is sadly a very small one, as thieves in most cases then attack the physical structure of the tank by cutting or drilling a hole in it near the bottom. With the HX range of detectors, you are being notified of unauthorised access to your tank storage area before the thieves access the tank.
