The crumbling economy in the UK has caused an increase in the theft of lead and other expensive materials from church roofs and other heritage buildings across the UK over the last year.

Using traditional security equipment makes securing these buildings a significant challenge that most often results in failure as the equipment used has not been purpose designed for these applications. External security systems are a whole different proposition to internal security and it is important from a reliability and effectiveness standpoint to ensure that the system you choose is up to the job.

Churches and historic buildings often have large quantities of valuable materials such as copper and lead used in their construction and are especially difficult to secure. As great care is required to install a security system without affecting the aesthetics or damaging the fabric of the building, the most pleasing results are usually obtained using professional radio communication equipment to link the various security detectors to the control equipment. 

The RDAS/CHSS-1 is a mains powered system with an integral 3 month battery back-up.

Unlike other systems that use single beam detectors designed for the lighting industry RDAS/CHSS-1 uses only dual element detectors for external detection. These are purpose designed for external security dramatically reducing nuisance alarms caused by wild animals, birds and domestic pets as well adverse weather conditions. For additional false alarm reduction, detectors can be 'grouped'.

With RDAS/CHSS-1, there are no cables running between the sensors and the control system.

Arming & Disarming

RDAS/CHSS-1 is operated is operated via high security wireless remote iButton key readers. One reader with a set of two keys is supplied as standard, however, the number of readers that can be linked to the system is limitless. One designated key is used to arm the system. Another designated key is used to disarm the system. A third key can also be used to disarm the system but sends a panic attack alert to the ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre).

Aditional keys are available to purchase seperately in pairs.

RDAS/CHSS-1 is flexible.

Not only will CHSS-1 protect your premises from theft on the outside, but it also allows you to protect the inside where we do recommend single beam sensors as animals are not often present.

In addition to guarding against unwanted human visitors, RDAS/CHSS-1 can also detect smoke and water, so if fire is a concern or you are in a flood area, RDAS/CHSS-1 provides a total security solution.
