The Standard MK II Mosquito™ is encased in an anti-vandal housing and incorporates a range of additional functions. These are:
• Continuous operation / 20 minute auto shut-off selection
• Indoor / outdoor operation selection
•
Onboard Vox system selection. This adjusts unit output volume in line with ambient noise levels.
Range of input terminals allowing easy connection to triggering devices such as:
• Timers
• Remote control
• PIR
• CCTV
Unit is powered by a 12v power supply (supplied separately) with a draw of less than 100mA.
Unit is supplied complete with variable mounting bracket. Not supplied with power supply, triggering device or security cage.

GSM Mosquito™

Primarily designed for the police, the GSM Mosquito as its name implies can be activated / deactivated via mobile telephone text message.
This system requires a SIM card in order to function over the GSM network. SIM cards can be purchased by the customer from a range of suppliers, however, CSS Ltd. recommend Vodafone Data SIM’s which can be supplied pre-installed in the GSM Mosquito.

Product Information.
The GSM Mosquito system was initially designed for use by police forces who needed to use the Mosquito in areas or at times when there is no one on site to activate the device. The system is now being taken up by private sector clients also.
There are three primary methods for assessing when it is appropriate to activate the system.
1. Residents / business people in the area are provided a contact number for a qualified / nominated person / police officer. When the local residents / business people feel there is a problem, they call the nominated person, explain the situation and if the nominated person feels it is appropriate, he / she can send an activation text message to the relevant Mosquito specifying the length of time the unit should stay on.
2. Local police patrols / security staff roaming the area can upon seeing a problem situation, activate the unit as they feel is necessary.
3. In areas where there is CCTV coverage, the Mosquito can be activated by the CCTV monitoring service

GSM/SMS remote monitoring system

The TAD-201 Informer is a GSM/SMS remote monitoring system. It is connected to an existing fire / intruder alarm system and will send SMS text messages to designated people when the alarm is triggered. It is capable of monitoring up to four circuits and also has an output which can be used to arm / disarm the system remotely or control external apparatus. Unlike other systems of this type the TAD-201 Informer has no ongoing operating costs - if used with a prepaid SIM card the unit will cost you nothing unless you use it. |

The TAD-202 Informer is a GSM / SMS remote monitoring system with inbuilt GPS tracking. It has all of the features of the TAD-201 with the added benefit that if fitted to mobile plant, vehicles or equipment the owner can pinpoint the exact location of the device within seconds. Add to this the benefit of having no ongoing operating costs and you have a system perfect for theft prevention and recovery of stolen goods. |

Mosquito PIR Activation Timer

Many Mosquito system users are activating the Mosquito by using a PIR detector. Due to the functionality of the Mosquito, the unit will either stay on for 20 minutes or remain on constantly. In some situations this has become an issue and we have been asked for a way to allow the PIR to turn the unit on when it detects a presence and turn it off when it is not detecting a presence.
The new PIR Activation Timer which can be retro-fitted inside a Mosquito unit on-site will allow the user to select how long (5-60 seconds) after the PIR has detected movement that the Mosquito will remain active for. Each subsequent activation of the PIR will reactivate the Mosquito for the set duration. |

Installing a Mosquito correctly can be difficult for two reasons. Firstly the majority of installation engineers are too old to hear if the unit is functioning and secondly, the sound emitted from the unit is highly directional. This means that the installation engineer has to ensure that the sound is going where it is needed. This is not as easy as it appears.
The PAA3 Hand Held Audio Analyser can be set-up to detect the 18KHz tone emitted by the Mosquito and provide a digital readout of the dB level. This means that the engineer can move around the area where the sound is required and check that there is sufficient dB level there. It is suggested that for the Mosquito to be most effective, levels need to be in excess of 75 dB. |

Defence Fence Top Bar (FTB) |

The Fence-Defence controller is custom designed for exclusive use with the Defence range of Zone units. The standard system offers 32 zones (expandable to 512), each zone being fully programmable with full alphanumeric display. The system is built within a weather/impact resistant and easy to carry case with all external connections provided by high quality professional connectors. The unit houses a rechargable battery providing 21 days of back up power. The standard control unit includes a voice annunciation unit with integral amplifier for broadcasting user and warning messages, GSM Communications unit with the ability to text events to any one of 10 mobile phones and system arm and disarming by text message and full 100+ event memory. |

Fence Defence Zone Unit |

The Zone Units are an optional accessory and allow the fence to be set up as various zones. This allows staff to readily identify where an activation or fault has occurred. CSS recommend this especially on large compounds. The Zone unit connects directly to the fence top bars and provides two individual monitoring circuits (zones) per unit. The unit is battery powered giving > 8 weeks run time. Fence condition and alarm signals from the fence are internally filtered and processed by the Zone units own microcontroller and transmitted to the Fence Defence Control Unit by a dedicated RF modem giving a range of > 500m (dependant on connected control unit aerial and location). The unit is built in a custom weatherproof vandal resistant housing with steel fence mounting bracket. |
